Expertise

The bridges

In addition to covering an unsightly space, the bridge improves chewing and speech. In addition, it prevents other teeth from moving or tilting, which creates gum problems.

Defective bridge, missing teeth and inadequate aesthetics.

Correction using a new 6 unit porcelain bridge greatly improving aesthetics.

Types of dental bridges

1
The conventional bridge

The conventional bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth, building on neighboring teeth.

  • It results in the creation of welded crowns on each adjacent tooth.
  • The part that connects them and replaces the missing tooth is called the “pontic”.
  • Since it is permanently cemented, the bridge cannot be removed.
2
The butterfly bridge

The butterfly bridge (or removable prosthesis) is used to replace one or more missing teeth, thanks to the adjacent teeth on which it rests.

  • A false tooth is placed between two teeth and glued to them with the help of fins.
  • The butterfly bridge is less solid than the traditional fixed bridge.
